Decorated Johnson County Marine Endorses Troy DeHart for Sheriff, 28 April 2010
(Greenwood, IN – April 28, 2010) Dual Purple Heart recipient, Sgt. Klay South, USMC Retired, is honored to endorse his friend, Troy DeHart for Johnson County Sheriff. Sgt. South and Candidate DeHart met in 1997 when South was a Cadet at the Johnson County Sheriff’s department. Sgt. South agrees with DeHart’s position on protecting the 2nd Amendment and ensuring our civil liberties.
Candidate DeHart has over 20 years in public service with 18 years in the sheriff’s department. He is currently a Johnson County Commissioner. The safety and security of your family and your civil rights are his top priority while continuing his stance on conservative fiscal responsibility.
On November 11, 2004, Sgt. South was clearing houses in Fallujah, Iraq when he was shot, point blank, in the face by an Iraqi militant. In 2007, Klay founded the non-profit organization, Veterans of Valor. The purpose is to assist the combat-wounded service members with support and friendship as well as to provide them with backpacks full of items useful during their hospital stays.
